The cost of commuting is getting to crisis point as the Daily mail and BBC news report on the 4.1% increase in transport costs, double the rate of inflation.

Also according to the daily mail “the number of ‘super-commuter’ Britons who take 90 minutes to get to work has soared by 50 per cent in the last five years, according to a new report.

The study shows the average UK worker spends 41 minutes commuting every day. But the number spending a total of three hours or more travelling has risen to 1.84 million – or nine per cent of the workforce.

So what are businesses doing about it?

Many are looking at alternative ways of running their businesses to cut costs and with the advancement of IT virtual technology they are finding easy solutions. Here are just some ways they are benefitting:
